Eleuthera









E leuthera, one of the "Out Islands" of the Bahamas, is a long, thin, island, located about 180 miles southeast of Miami. The Out Islands are considered to be "out of the way", in terms of tourism, travel, and attention of the government. These factors lead to a general lack of development, which is advantageous to the traveller who goes to Eleuthera. There is a general laid back attitude, everyone waves at one another, leaves the house door open,and many people even leave their keys in their cars.






On this page are photos of various parts of the Bahamian island of Eleuthera. They were taken with the same camera used for the minivideos, a Sony Mavica MVC-FD91. Since it uses floppies for film, it is excellent for putting photos on web pages.

Incidentally, one of the renters, April from Tennessee took a picture from the back deck of Aarons Beachhouse, which is a semi-finalist in the International Library of Photography amateur's contest. This picture will be published in their book "Reflections of the World". Congratulations, April.

Harbor Island is a small island on the north part of Eleuthera, reached by a five-minute boat ride from the mainland. It is the largest town of Eleuthera.
